Our 100% natural, home-made face mask is made using an ancestral family recipe. Each eco-friendly beauty bag is made lovingly in our gardens in Central India, and contains hand-crushed, sun-dried orange peel powder mixed with sandalwood, red lentils and almond skins.
The recipe for Nikhaar (which means glow in Hindi) has been passed on through several generations of women in our founder’s family. We loved the freshness and fragrance of the mask so much that we decided to bring its goodness to the wider world!
The smell and the instant after-glow! Every eco-friendly beauty bag smells of fresh oranges and we assure you…this smell will greet you every time you open the eco-friendly beauty bag. The afterglow is real and your skin will be radiant after you peel the mask.
Prized in Ayurveda, sandalwood lends multiple benefits, acts as a astringent, antiseptic, is anti inflammatory & helps in removing tan.
A natural exfoliator that helps in getting rid of dead skin cells, leaving the skin smooth and fresh.
Each jar of Nikhaar is handmade in our gardens in Central India using local, ethically sourced and natural ingredients. Being a family recipe, the entire process of over three months – buying ingredients, drying the produce, crushing and packing each jar is overseen by women in the founders family that have been making this mask for their own use since the 1950s!
Orange peels are recycled from the largest local juice shops, sandalwood from nearby temples and almonds from around the country. Orange peels are dried under direct sunlight for a number of weeks while other ingredients are strained and crushed to the finest powder. The final mixing is overseen by our most experienced hand(s), as proportions are key to your perfect jar of Nikhaar. This process has been the same for nearly half a century, and we’re proud to keep it that way!
Finally, Manasi (our founder) who is an energy healer energises each beauty jar before sending them out to our lovely customers.

Where the spirit does not work with the hand there is no art. – Leonardo da Vinci
‘It’s has been my endeavour to take you back in time and relive the magic of their ways. Take home a complete experience, not just an ancestral recipe or ritual but a piece of history itself.
Regional art is the most potent language of the land. It connects you with the spirit of its people and ideology of its natives. It was important for me to research, seek inspiration and package the products in a way that spoke the same language where the recipe/ritual of the product originated from. Hope you enjoy this piece of art as much I have creating it. ’ – Manasi Golechha Bhandari

We wanted you to not just have the beauty ritual from the dynasties but also the encased box from the same period. Hence we found inspiration in the oriental forms and colors in the remnants of ancient Chinese architecture seen in Beijing for an immersive experience. ‘ – Manasi Golechha Bhandari
There are five primary colours in traditional Chinese culture that correspond to the five elements and to the five directions. Harmonizing these five elements brings peace to all directions. Green (wood element) represents east; red (fire element) represents south; white (metal element) represents west; black (water element) represents north; and yellow (earth element) represents the centre.
We have also included a sketch of the Great Wall of China to give you a glimpse of the grandeur and the wonder of the world from ancient China.

Nikhaar Ubtan is laced with the regional art of Gond that comes from the land the recipe hails from which is Madhya Pradesh, situated at the heart of central india.
Gond is a famous folk art of the Gond tribal community of central India. The Gond people believe that every element of nature, be it the hills, the sky or the trees, is inhabited by a spirit. Recreating the forms of nature therefore is done with reverence and worship of their sacred essence.
The most significant subjects explored and depicted in Gond paintings include birds, animals, and mythical beasts. Considered as the Tree of Life – the Mahua tree is an important subject, the flowers, fruits, seeds, and leaves from the Mahua tree serve many purposes for the tribe.
We have also included a sketch of an architectural wonder, our ancestral heritage home from where the magic began!
